Tsinghua High School successfully hosted the 2nd Seminar on Talent Training for Basic Education of Life Sciences and the 13th Workshop for senior High School Biology teachers

From July 22 to 25, sponsored by the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University and the Life Sciences Joint Center of Tsinghua University-Peking University, and hosted by the Affiliated High School of Tsinghua University and the Basic Education Research Center of the Institute of Education of Tsinghua University, the senior high school biology teacher training activity was held in the campus of the affiliated High School of Tsinghua University。

This activity aims to enrich and expand the professional knowledge and ability of first-line high school biology teachers, understand the cutting-edge developments in the field, promote the organic integration and cohesion of biology teaching in universities and middle schools, and improve the quality of talent training。There were more than 300 high school biology teachers from all over the country, outstanding undergraduates from all over the country engaged in life science research, and high school students from the Talent program participating in the event。

In the next two days of training courses,Six Chinese professors and doctoral supervisors from the School of Life Sciences, School of Pharmacy and School of Basic Medicine of Tsinghua University,And three foreign professors from Harvard University and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology provided an academic feast for the attending teachers and students,The high-level multi-angle academic report not only introduces the cutting-edge trends of life science research,It also shows the way of thinking, the paradigm of research and the charm of teaching of university professors in the process of scientific research。

On July 24, the seminar for front-line biology teachers was hosted by Mr. Liu Jian, head of the Biology Teaching and Research Group of Tsinghua High School。The theme of this forum was "Training of scientific and technological innovation talents connecting large and medium-sized". In the morning, four teachers from the High School Attached to Tsinghua University shared the exploration and practice of cultivating scientific and technological innovation talents in the biology teaching of high school attached to Tsinghua University from different aspects of education and teaching。The complete curriculum system, advanced education concept and efficient classroom teaching of Tsinghua High School triggered a heated discussion among the teachers。Everyone said that the harvest was great and deeply inspired。

In the afternoon, Mr. Jin Si from Beijing No. 80 Middle School, Mr. Zuo Shan from Beijing Middle School and Mr. Li Kejie from Jiading Branch of Shanghai Jiaotong University gave lectures on the Construction of Biology Curriculum Group of "Situation Co-creation" Based on the Cultivation of high school students' Core Literacy, "Exploration and Practice of a New Model for the Cultivation of Capital Science and Technology Reserve Talents under the background of the integration of large and small schools," and "A high School for the Cultivation of Top Innovative Talents.Biology competition Curriculum construction and teacher Professional Development. 3 Reports。Sharing the thinking and practical experience of different schools and regions on the cultivation of top innovative talents provides teachers with learning cases from different angles and levels。

This study is not only to improve the professional ability of high school biology teachers, but also to deeply integrate and explore the training of scientific and technological innovation talents in basic education and higher education。The workshop provides a platform for teachers to learn about the latest life science trends, stimulate teachers' innovative thinking, share interdisciplinary teaching practice methods, and explore the application of educational technology in biology teaching。At the same time, through the close cooperation between universities and middle schools, we can jointly explore and build a more perfect curriculum system for training scientific and technological innovation talents, and discuss the future direction of training and development of life science talents in China, which is of great significance for the development of life science field in China。
